Among the countries globally, Philippines has variety of Filipino parols all through the nation. These vary, in sizes, used materials, designs and colors as well. The most recorded area in the Philippines of this parol making event, having the largest production of Filipino parols, is in Parañaque, Metro Manila. The Pampanga parol creation is also on the record taste and uniqueness. Filipinos are innately imaginative and idealistic of embellishing handicrafts or anything they produce. Thus, even with this parol making, they excel. Filipino parols may be simple for others, but it is good and competitive also for exports and for those other countries’ Christmas parol lanterns.

What is important about this is that, even until now, all of us are practicing and still in one thought of this Filipino parols as our leading Christmas décor and as a sign or remembrance of the past. And as time goes by, Filipino parols are that constructive, more elegantly made, more artistically shaped and that well-presented now a days. For me, the materials of how to make these parols are really enticing, but we should bear in mind that it is not about the materials- it’s about the passion and intentions of making it!

It is declared that starting today at 8:00 o’ clock in the evening Ramadan will start to our Muslim brothers and sisters. Ramadan Kareem is the most important month in Islamic Calendar; they will celebrate it with all their respect to their religion as Muslims good for one month after EID. I don’t know exactly what their events in this whole month.
As my confusions in mind will not stop thinking what Ramadan Kareem is, I interviewed one of my Muslim colleagues here he said to me that they pray 5 times in a day and here is the timings he said: 4:20 AM as Fajir, 12:25PM as Sahoor, 3:45 PM as Asir, 6:55 PM Magarep and 8:15 PM as Aisha. For their evening meal they called that as Ramadan Iftar and the early morning meal as Ramadan Sahoor. He said also that there’s no music allowed and especially the alcohol drinks.
That’s all the information I got from my colleague even though seems like I’m still confused of what he said to me but anyways thank you for sharing some information. Will just respect them as they celebrate the Ramadan this month to our Muslim brothers and sisters Happy Ramadan to all of you! By the way “Kareem” means “Happy”.

SEN. Panfilo Lacson is proposing for a uniform valuation of real estate properties in the Philippines.

During a recent consultative hearing on the matter in Cagayan de Oro City, Lacson observed that the Philippines has no uniform valuation of real properties unlike in countries such as the United States.

“If one is in San Diego for example and if you want to buy a piece of land, you can easily determine the value of the property. Here, you have to ask a real estate broker,” he said.

Town and city assessors from all over Mindanao were present in the consultations to discuss and deliberate the matter.

Under his proposal, Lacson suggested to establish and maintain valuation standards to govern the valuation for real property in the country by adopting the market value as the single real property valuation base for their assessment.

Market values will be determined through the enactment of ordinances in the respective localities.

Its implementation in all local government units in the country will then be supervised by a new government agency to be created, the National Valuation Authority which will have regional offices in all 16 regions in the country.

With that, local government units are also required by then to update their real property database.

This day 2nd of May 2009 is the most especially day for me when I accept my Pre as part of my life and soul. It’s been 3 years and a half we’ve been together share the tears and laughter together. I’m so happy when I’m with my Pre, but for this 4th anniversary I’m not happy as before because we’re just communicating through the net *crying* it’s too hard and it’s not easy the long distance relationship. I know Pre we can survive the test/trials that we encounter even though where far from each other, as long as we have trust, respect, faith and most especially the LOVE. We can surpass all the temptation everywhere, I know temptation surround for the both us. I really miss you my Pre the hug and kisses, outings, disco, eating, window shopping etc. together. And I'm so sorry Pre if I’m not there with you when you need me especially the important occasion, or just a simple talk with me. What else I can say? Hi guys I know all of us know about Spiderman the way he act in the movie industry right? The way he conquered his fear of heights and the way he moves. I really love Spiderman the movie, every episodes of the movie I never miss. Sometimes I miss the movie but I will buy DVD on it for me to watch hehehe. I have something to share with you guys, maybe some of you believe it or not the Spiderman in Abu Dhabi Mr. Alain Robert. Alain Robert, the French Spiderman took on Abu Dhabi 's tallest building in front of a crowd numbering tens of thousands without any safety mechanisms in place. Ash Wednesday

Yesterday all Christian celebrated Ash Wednesday this is the sign that holy week is coming. Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. As the priest says this line while placing the ash in the forehead “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” The ashes are made from the first burns palm from last years palm Sunday mix with holy water that has been blessed. The ash in the forehead is a sign of being sorry for the things that we have done wrong and get relieve forever. Some of my colleagues went to the church around 6:30 in the evening to follow the Christian faith which is Ash Wednesday. Me? *sigh* I didn’t go with them because it’s my duty that time. But I got also an ash in my forehead one of my colleague told the priest that can you blessed some ash for those Christian who are not here. Even though I’m not inside the church I accept the ash and I will just pray by myself and talk to God about my sins.

I got already my UAE ID card in just two weeks, one of my batch mates still waiting for there UAE ID card. I received a mailed letter from the Emirates Identity Authority for my identity card. I have some questions in my mind, how important this card here in UAE? And as I read the mailed letter, they said this line “This card shall provide you with high level of security and performance owing to its high-tech characteristics that guarantee the protection of your privacy. It helps in easing the process of obtaining Governmental and non-Governmental services in the near future.” BE YOU in the UAE! Ohsss really? Hehehe we’ll just see!

Fresh Fish

Last Tuesday beth, kuya joy and I went to the sea side to buy some fresh fish we wake up 7:00 o’ clock in the morning. As we walk through the sea side area whew we breathe the fresh air and we felt the coldness of the air and that time it’s too windy. As we arrived the fish boat are there already and they just gather the fresh fishes in the net. When the fish gathered on the net all of them jumping trying to escape to the net, one of the fish I caught and still breathing I feel pity to the fish when I catch it I threw it back to the sea water hehehe. When the fisherman finished gathered all different kind of fishes and some squids. One of them segregated the squids to the fish because of the black ink they provide I don’t know exactly the term for that ink color for the squid harharhar. We bought the fish for 10dhs and 25dhs for the squid. When we go back in our way beth saw a dead turtle I told her to take picture on it, and kuya joy told us he will bring the dead turtle to his room and preserve it. UAE ID Card

Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA), a federal government organization created a single national identity card for the UAE nationals, GCC citizens living in UAE and other UAE residents. Instead of having all multiple identity cards like driving license, work permits, employee cards and passports; they made this UAE ID card good for as one valid ID card. The validity of the UAE ID Card is as follows: You must be either a UAE national, a GCC citizen working or residing in the UAE or a UAE resident and above 15 years of age. The card is valid for lifetime for nationals (with renewal every five years) and validity for other residents depends on the validity of the visa. However, the same card can be used, once the residence visa is renewed.

For the workers no need to worry about the payment because the employers must bear the cost of the national ID card for their workers, according to labour officials. “Under the labour law, employers must bear all charges for governmental transactions for their workers,” an official explained. “The ID card will eventually replace the labour card whose cost is borne by the employer.” UAE ID card is mandatory for all the UAE residents and for those residents living in the UAE who don’t have the new cards by the end of 2010 will be considered illegal. And their employers will be penalized.

So in that case our management brings us by batch to the Emirates Identity Authority office in Fujairah to register our names there. We went their last Tuesday that was January 27, 2009 around 9:00 o’clock we are 15 all in all in the first batch of employees. But so sad to heard that we will pay the fee charge of that UAE ID card the payment will be charge in our salary. As I read this law can I tell our management about these things? Or no need because I know they knew it already they just need their employees to shoulder the burden instead of them. What is this? *sigh*

Annual Staff Party

Last January 18 we had our annual staff party and the venue for our party is in the Ocean View Bar one of our outlet in our Hotel *sigh* how cheap hehehe. The party started around 12 in the midnight why midnight? Because that’s the time all of the staff finished their duty harharhar. The party is quiet okay I enjoyed a little bit the food is great the Chef knows well our taste hehehe. The management also prepared for a raffle draw for all the staff. Unfortunately hehehe my precious name wasn’t called for the raffle draw better luck next time Charisse harharhar. My two room mate was luck that day their name was called one received MP3 player and the other got a MP3 speaker. We also have a presentation through nationality Filipinos, Indians and Bangali. These nationalities did their best to show their talents to the staff party. And of course we Filipinos did the best presentation among other nationalities proud to be Pinoy. The staff party ended out well, around 3:30 in the morning we finished the party. After the party all the staff back to their barracks again hehehe.

Christmas and New Year 2009

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year guys! My Christmas & New Year here in UAE was not so happy compared last year. *sigh* I’m not with my loved ones but what will I do life must go on. In the 24th eve all Christian employees went to the Fujairah Church to hear the gospel of the priest in the season of love which is the birth of our Christ. In the church you can saw different nationality but most of them are Filipinos and Indians. When I saw our Indian sisters whew I’m so amazed of their dresses and gold accessories as my Indian friend told me that when they will go to church they wear their very elegant dresses.

As the ceremony continues I feel that I’m alone where I’m surrounded with the strange people and only God and I. I have already a teary eye when the ceremony starts and as we sang the Our Father I didn’t control it anymore and I started to cry as the song finished not only me crying my co-employee also have a teary eye *sigh* how we miss our loved ones back home.

After the mass as we arrived in the compound I opened my laptop and go online to greet my loved ones a Merry Christmas. We have a small party also we exchange gifts, we prepare foods and drinks. As the party finished we chatted with my fiancée, again I cried *sigh* I really miss him so much even though we chat everyday but that day it’s a very special day but too bad we’re too apart.

Welcoming the year 2009 for me it’s an ordinary day and quiet busy because I’m in graveyard duty that time. We have a Gala Dinner to our in house guest, we did raffle promo for them and the Filipino band is there to entertain our guest. The party turns at well all guests are very happy celebrating their New Year. I just hope and pray that this year we have an abundant year in the year of the Ox.

Today is the very special day of my fiancée it’s his birthday *sigh* I’m not with him. But anyways we still communicate with each other long distance relationship, it’s not easy but we need to be strong enough. We chatted with Jen about Christmas party they have Christmas party in their company, I told her good for you. She told me it’s a red carpet held in Grand Caprice Hotel, wow bongga! I told her you should wear a nice gown that day, actually their party will be this coming 20. And she told me yes of course me pa! hehe. I told her you will present a dance? Because every time we have party or we went to disco before, always this friend of mine show her talent in dancing or even singing. 2nd Birthday of my Niece

Yesterday 15th of December my niece celebrating her 2nd birthday too bad for me I’m not there with her to her special day. I really miss my niece, when I left from there she’s only 1 year and 4 months old that time. For the months that I’m not with her I know I miss something new about her. Her first baby talk, first dance and a lot more. My fiancée and my friend Jen (her godmother) went there to greet and joined baby Anne to her special day. I just saw baby Anne her pictures and thanks to Jen for the pictures. Because I told her before, when you go there bring your digicam and take some snapshots with my niece. The three days celebration for our Muslim brothers is over the EID Al Adha celebrated on the 8th – 10th of December. EID Al Adha means the Festival of Sacrifice, all I know to this celebration all Muslims attend morning prayers at the mosques. They make small sacrifices and follow Allah’s commands obediently. It’s a four days holiday here in UAE because of this celebration, some families bond each other went to the beach do camping to get together. After performing the EID prayers Muslims greet each other EID Mubarak! EID Mubarak means “you may enjoy a blessed festival”. Snow in the UAE

Yes you read it right snow in the UAE, last Saturday we went to supermarket to buy something goods for us. When we step out to the supermarket its start raining, we immediately ran and put the goods we bought to the taxi. Now I know not only Philippines having floods in the street when it rains also here in UAE. Some area of Khorfakkan we saw stuck-up waters as we passed by, maybe because they don’t have drainage. When we arrived to our room I saw something white balls in the floor together with the rain. I told them look what is that a styrofoam? One of my colleagues went outside and touches the small white ball and when she touched it the ball became water. She jumped out for joy and said to us it’s a snow! And all of us went outside to touch the snow, it’s my first time to saw a snow and it happened here in the desert area which is UAE unbelievable right?

UAE 37th Anniversary

Yesterday December 2, 2008 the UAE celebrating their 37th Anniversary, you can saw many flags scattered in the street. Same in our country when we celebrate our Independence Day we will put our national flag hanging in our houses, buildings, cars and vehicles. Some private cars I saw not only flag they put, they put also some sticker decoration like colorful stars. I don’t know how they celebrate their anniversary I just saw in the television people bringing the flags while walking the street. Sad to say I did not understand the news because of the Arabic language hehehe. The president of the UAE, President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan he said this line in address the celebration of their 37th National Day "The sense of satisfaction over what we have gained in our country should not be a reason for lethargy and relaxation; rather it should be an endless inspiration for more work and self-giving." Terrorist Attack in Mumbai India

My colleagues here who live from India were all shocked when they saw and heard the news in television that the terrorist attacked their country. It happened yesterday November 26, 2008 around 8:00 in the evening in Bombay India and now called Mumbai. There having their conversation during our duty about the terrorist attack and one of my colleague said that the terrorist passed in the sea area of Mumbai India, they really planned their attacked. I just listening their conversation and asked some questions for them.
They said that the terrorist targeted 10 places in India; the main target is the TAJ hotel in Mumbai India the well known hotel there. And there is another 3 hotels attacked with the bomb inside and lots of gunfire heard inside the hotel. I asked them how many civilians died during the attacked they said 120 died and 300 plus were injured during the terrorist attack in Mumbai India. I told them that you lived near in Mumbai and thanks God they replied NO.
Because for me it’s not easy that if I heard and saw the news about terrorist attack in my country and one of my love ones is near the attack area. I don't know then what will I do if I'm too far away from them. Let’s just hope and pray that it would not last long the gunfire and bombings in Mumbai India.

It’s raining again

But this time I took pictures on it, because when I left in my duty it still raining that time and thanks to my roommate Beth she brought an umbrella for me. While walking grrrr I felt the cool air touching my skin and I heard also the sound of thunder. Fujairah Red Tide

This day after my duty around 4:20 in the afternoon I and my roommate went to the beach to check if the sea condition is okay. As we walked along the road near the beach whewww we smell the bad odor of the sea air. And from there we saw different kinds of dead fishes just like; little snake in the sea, crab, hamour, little electric eel and I don’t know the names of the other fishes we saw. So sad to say still the Fujairah red tide is not yet over and the beach color instead of blue one it became black maybe because of the oil spills. In the beach you can see many crows there and flies ewww the crows eating the dead fishes. What happen to our nature now? Why there is so called red tide? Guys we took some pictures for you.

Pacman vs The Golden Boy

Next month mark your calendar on the 6th of December 2008 one of the biggest event of the year the boxing match between Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Oscar "The Golden Boy" De La Hoya. The contenders will face each other in the middle of the ring at MGM Mirage in Las Vegas; I know all of us are very excited to this event who will win! I'm not an expert on this boxing match but when Manny has a boxing match I love to see it because I'm proud to be Pinoy. As I read in forum sites some say Pacman will not win against the Golden Boy because of his weight. For this match it would be Manny's speed and power vs De La Hoya's resistance. In previous fight scene The Golden Boy is familiar to his hook style in punching while Pacman to his left left right combination punch, I think so hehehe. So guys for you who will win on this match? As for me I will go for Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao my idol in boxing industry, Manny will give De La Hoya 3 rounds by TKO hehehe ( I hope so ) we’ll just wait what will happen to this event.

Beach is temporarily close

Today in our hotel the beach is temporarily close because of these dead fish and oil scattered in the sea. Our beach hotel is nearby the Fujairah port that's why the oil keeps coming to the sea. And this day while at work I feel sleepy and boring, there's no guest arrive to check in or just simply walk-in guest to eat in the restaurant or go for swimming in the pool. When I finished my duty that time I smell something fishy hehehe yeah really guys I smell bad odor when I breathe the air ewww. Too bad for the management because they don't know what to do with this problem, I know they lost lot of money in this sea condition. But I know this sea condition will be okay few days from now. For those guest who will go for beach swimming near Fujairah sorry to tell you the beach is temporarily close at this moment.

It's my day off

In one week we only have one day off in our work *sigh* not just like other company they have 2 days off anyways it's okay with me at least we have one day hehehe. Last night I washed already my clothes so that during my off I'm free for the whole day, I slept around 3AM and wake up around quarter to 12PM. When I wake up I cooked for our brunch guess what I've cooked? A simple dish only corned beef hahaha! Then after that I opened my laptop checking my mails, blog hopping and chatting with my fiancé. We chat everyday we exchanged stories what's going on in our lives even though we're too apart *sigh*. It's too hard this kind of relationship the long distance relationship but we tried our best to be strong enough. Rain in the desert

My duty schedule for this whole month of November is early in the morning around 7:00 AM, and every time I'm going to my work the sunshine is always make my day smile. Last Thursday as I look up the sky it seems like the rain is coming, I didn't saw the sun then. As time goes on we talk with my colleagues about the weather condition that time and I told her that maybe it will rain she replied no it will not happened here in UAE. I replied to her really? I wish it will rain because in my six months staying here I didn't saw a rain. And maybe God heard me hehehe because why? Around 9:00 in the morning the rain start falling hehehe I feel like a child that I jumped in my work place, for the joy that I saw a rain again. And when I saw it I was shocked because all I know that it will not happened, UAE is a desert country but indeed it rain hehehe. Sad to say the rain not continued falling it stop around quarter to 10:00 hehehe at least I saw it.

I miss back home

Hi guys it’s been a while I didn’t share my expedition in life here in UAE so far I’m okay and still adjusting my new life and my new work here. I met new friends, new boss, new places I’ve been through and different kind of guest I met, really all for me here is totally new. But I strive hard, working with different nationality colleagues even though I really miss my family, my friends and specially my special someone there back home *sigh*.

I feel lonely and alone here but no need to worry because God is with me always and forever. He is my best friend here I share lots of things to Him when I finished my duty and go to bed, that time we talk about life. I went here just to try something new, working in other country is okay but all of us here our weakness is that missing someone back home.

Last All Saints and All Souls Day all Filipinos here are lighting candles for our loved ones who just past away. That day I really cried remembering my parents special my mom who died last May 24, 2007 I miss my mom a lot but I know my mom is happy now in the hand of our God, I just pray for their souls and ask to guide me always here.

Till here guys I need to sleep now because my duty tomorrow will start at 7:00 AM *sigh*. I just want to share with you that I really miss my life back home.

Summer Vacation in Bohol

My summer vacation in Bohol is a great gift I received on my 25th birthday last April 18. I and my boyfriend went to Bohol last April 17-20 for our summer vacation. In the 17th we arrived at the Port of Jagna around 2:00 in the afternoon, at the Port we took 2 hours and a half to ride in a bus for us to arrived in Ubay Bohol. From Ubay we ride a “pot-pot” Boholano’s term for their motorcycle for about half an hour for us to reach the destination of Camali-an, the village where my boyfriend’s grandparents lived. I’m so happy when we arrived there because of the warmth pleasure that his grandparents, uncles and aunties gave.

I woke up early in the morning at 5:00 on my birthday; my boyfriend and I went to the store to buy some eggs for our breakfast and I get my digicam and took pictures on the sunrise, rice fields and the animals in the fields. I really love the fresh air when you were there you will feel the full relaxation in your body, mind and soul.

8:00 in the morning I and my boyfriend went to the most beautiful tourist spot in Bohol. First stop the chocolate hills we both amazed with the scenery of the place, when were on the top whewww we feel like were in heaven chocolate hills is one of the best place in Bohol. After chocolate hills we went to Bilar Church to light candle and thank God that He gave me another year for me to go on with my life. In Bohol there are lots of old church like Bilar Church and as I’ve known the famous church in Bohol is the Baklayon Church.

From the church we went to the Simply Butterflies Conservation Center in there you will see the biggest butterfly and colorful butterflies. I was shocked with our tour guide in the butterflies’ conservation center because he really studies all kinds of butterflies in the conservation. The way butterflies move, courting and meeting each other. After that our next destination is the Man-Made Forest you will see the tall trees in the road when you pass by the Man-Made forest you will fell the fresh and cold air. Did you guys remember the teleserye in Channel 2 “Panday” with Jericho and Heart? Some event in their scene is taken in that Man-Made Forest.

From their we went to the place where Buko King lived, Buko King is very well known in opening the buko using his own teeth. To reach the place you will go through some adventure you will cross the bamboo hanging bridge for then to see Buko King. I was amazed when Buko King starts to open the buko using his teeth grrrrrrrrrrr. After that adventure we went to the place of Tarsiers the smallest primates on earth, tarsiers food are crickets. When you are in Bohol you will not leave the place with out seeing the adorable big eyes of Tarsier.

Its lunch time and the last destination is the romantic place of the Loboc River. We ate our lunch there and when the cruise is moving we both enjoy the fresh air on the river and the surroundings itself. The cruise also has its own stop over hehehe, we stop at the dancing and singing children who performs with us. The ukulele groups also present a nice song for us to enjoy the trip of the cruise. I really enjoy and have fun in my birthday and from Loboc River we went home to take some rest.

In Saturday morning we went to the place of Calape where the miraculous San Antonio Church located. Many religious people went to the church to pray for Him, ask guidance and some farmers ask for Him for their abundant harvest. In the church I prayed for San Antonio that He will give us more strength and good health. From the church we went to Inabanga the place where my boyfriend’s father side live. And I met his grandfather, aunties, uncles and cousin. Its lunch time then and we ate the yummy and delicious big crabs for our lunch, I’m so full because I really love sea foods especially crabs hmmmmm yummy.

Sunday is the day to say thank you and see you soon in the next vacation, because our summer vacation is ended up. I’m so thankful for the relatives of my boy friend for accepting me to their family and the warmth pleasure they gave for me when I stayed there. I’m having really fun and enjoyed my summer vacation in Bohol!

Last April 3 the nephew of my boy friend turns one year old. As her godmother I and my boy friend bought something with the birthday boy. We bought a small ball and a new set of clothes for him. Do you guys experience joining a team, social services, ministries or groups of people who lend their hands for others? If you did, all I can say is that you have such a good heart because I know involving this one is not easy. But once you accomplished your mission it’s a great honor that one thing in your whole life you did lend your hands for others, looking other people happy for your help is an achievement. I want to experience this kind of activities, I did help other people for my own little way like giving donations and I want to pursue helping others.
And I found out at some ministries that their vision is to lend their hand for others. If you have your extra cars, boats, motorcycle that you didn’t use why not donate it in Angel Ministries? Today is the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as a Christian we celebrate it with great joy welcoming Jesus Christ back in our life again. Churches today hold Easter masses and dawn processions in observance the first meeting of Jesus and the Blessed Mary. And as a Christian, early in the morning I woke up at 3:00am my boy friend, his sister and cousin Ann is with me we join the procession at the church. The procession starts at 4:00am, many Christians join and observe over the risen Christ. In the procession there are many cute little angels singing “Alleluia Alleluia” and one of the angels lift the veil of Blessed Mary covering to her face to see her Risen Son for the first time, since His crucifixion on Good Friday. In the observance of Easter Sunday many malls also have their Easter egg hunts for the kids. And some families go to the beaches rejoicing the risen of our Savior Jesus Christ. Happy Easter Sunday guys!

Today is Good Friday and all of us commemorate the death and crucifixion of our Christ. The last seven words of Christ, in church the worship services last in 3 hours it starts at 12 noon and ended it up at 3 o’ clock in the afternoon the time which Jesus Christ died. This day is a very solemn one people go to the church with their faith and prayers to our Christ.

Bon Voyage to my friend Merniel

Merniel had her 1st flight to Manila early at six in the morning last Maundy Thursday. And her flight back to Saudi at four in the afternoon, we didn’t had time to accompany her to the airport. I know that even such a little span of our friendship bonding and to her family, Merniel is very happy back to her work again. To Merniel bon voyage friend and thank you for sharing your time with us. Even though she’s back in Saudi we still communicate with each other through e-mail and sometimes do chat to YM.

Last week that was March 13, my friend Sharon arrived here. Sharon worked in Dubai for almost 2 years; she’s married and has one daughter name Nikki. While at worked sometimes we chatted and she talked always how she really misses her family especially her daughter. And I know as she arrived here she’s wearing a big smile because for almost 2 years she’s finally home. Sharon and I first met at HarvestSEO Company as a co-worker and became friends for then. Last Tuesday Sharon, Arthur her hubby, Ann and her hubby and son Carl, me and my bf and Jen went to Galam. Galam is a Videoke bar we went their for our Videoke time/bonding. We really enjoyed that moment and chit chatting about her worked and about her life in Dubai. Jen, my bf and I went to the palace of Merniel last Sunday morning. I like the place it’s calm and peaceful. The palace is surrounded with lots of coconut trees, bamboo, mango trees, corns, eggplant and string beans. Animals like carabaos, cows and goats are also in. All I can say is that the greener the fresher! I really love the palace; in there you can relax, have peace of mind and breathe fresh air. My balikbayan friend Merniel

It’s been four years since I met this great balikbayan friend of mine Merniel. We first met and built our friendship at Harvestseo Company in 2004. As years goes by somebody knocked Merniel and offered her great opportunity to Saudi Arabia. Merniel grab that opportunity for her to share and gain more knowledge and abilities. In 2007 Merniel departed Philippines and went to Saudi Arabia to face her new challenges in life. I’m so happy with Merniel, I do hope and pray that someday I can work also in other countries.

Our communication never stopped even though we’re apart, we keep sending e-mails for any updates happened in our lives. She forwarded me her pictures when she’s at the hidden valley of Riyadh. And when I got her mail saying that she has a one month vacation here I’m so happy because she’s back home again.
Last Sunday that was February 10 around 4:30 in the afternoon I, my bf and Jen went to the airport for the arrival of our friend Merniel. Her sister and her nieces are also there waiting for her. We’re so exited to see her again and in a few minutes her come Merniel with a smile on her face.
From the airport we went to their house, we do lots of chitchatting as we ate our dinner. Jen said that we should plan and set an itinerary for the one month vacation of our friend here. I’m sure this month of February there are lots of hang outs happen. For Merniel I’m so glad that you’re finally home.

Our outing at Rock Spring

Last Sunday we have an outing at Rock Spring it is located in Jasaan Misamis Oriental. The travel time from the city to the location area, approximately 45 minutes. As we arrived in rock spring I took pictures with the big trees and the pool, the area are surrounded with huge rocks. That’s why obviously the name itself of the spring is rock spring because of the rocks, hehehe. In a few minutes my boy friend and Junie grilled some fish for our lunch while Risa and Ann made delicious tapioca for our dessert. After our lunch, it’s swimming time I’m having fun and enjoyed the cold water in the spring. In the pool you know girls thing, Carolyn, Risa, Jane, Quennie and I do lots of chitchatting while adoring the cold flowing waters. All in all we are group of twelve having great time in our outing. Namely: Junie, Archie, Ann, Jane, Risa, Den-Den, Carolyn, Dexter, Robert, Quennie, my boy friend and yours truly. We’re having our momentous outing at Rock Spring and our next location hopefully would be at Baungon, in there we will experience whitewater rafting adventure. Sinulog Festival Santo Niño

Today is the Sinulog festival, famous feast in Cebu City and it’s been held every year on the third Sunday of January. Sinulog is a prayer dance performed before the image of the Santo Niño. Sinulog derived from the Cebuano word “sulog” which is “river current movement”; skillfully describes the forward-backward movement of the Sinulog dance. And the dance is accompanied by the sound of the drums, trumpets and many more. The Sinulog festival is one of the majestic and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The festival portrayed by a long parade through the streets while dancing the Sinulog. While the contingents dancing, people around the streets are shouting Pit Señor! to express their thanksgivings to the Santo Niño. This Sinulog dance is a ritual dance in honor of Santo Niño or the child Jesus, the patron saint of Cebu City. The above image you’ve seen is our own Santo Niño at home. Viva Señor Santo Niño! Black Nazarene Procession

Yesterday is the feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo Manila. This patron is the patron of our church as an Aglipayan or Philippine Independent Church we call Black Nazarene as Señor Nazareno. I’m so disappointed yesterday because I didn’t make it to wake up as early as five thirty in the morning. Seven to nine in the morning is the procession of the Black Nazarene in our city then nine to eleven is the holy mass of the patron. Sad to say guys I wake up quarter to nine in the morning (sigh) but I know Black Nazarene understand me. As I watched the news in television thousands of devotees who walked barefoot are pushing against each other only to touch the miraculous image of the Black Nazarene. And there are 2 people died and 50 others were hurt during the procession. Devotees believe that their prayers and wishes will be granted by simply touching the miraculous Black Nazarene. The estimated devotees are about at least 2 million turned up the eight hour procession in Quiapo.

Adopted Kitten ended her life

Its Monday the 1st day of the week but this day I felt sad when my sister saw that the adopted kitten is already dead. Last week I wrote about our adopted kitten click here, yeah that kitten in the picture you saw sad to say she’s dead. When the adopted kitten ended her life I’m so upset of what happened with the adopted kitten. I’m a pet lover that’s why I felt that way. I think the adopted kitten ended her life because she can’t take it anymore to live longer. And it’s true the kittens are for the cat only and the puppies for dog heheheh. So much for the kitten, the six puppies are doing well and their eyes are started to open. Do you guys have a pet? If you do please take extra care for them as part of your lives.

Happy Three Kings

This day January 6, 2008 and it’s the 1st Sunday of the month, the celebration of the three Kings also known as the three wise men. The three Kings namely Gaspar, Melchoir and Balthasar based on a Bible story, the kings saw on the night when Jesus Christ was born, they followed a bright star to Bethlehem and found there Jesus Christ and offered the gold, frankincense and myrrh.

This day is a very especial to me and I’m never to fail to remember this day because it’s the birthday of my grandfather. My grandfather named Baltazar but sad to say he passed away last May 19, 2002. My grandfather is a great grandpa way back when I was still on my prep school, he is the one accompany me to the school. And he always sang with me his favorite song. I love my grandpa very much even though in the past years I’m not with him to take good care.
This afternoon I will go to the cemetery, light a candle and pray for his soul. And after that I will go to the church to thank God for everything. For me we should always go to the church every Sunday to thank God for everything and say sorry for the sins that we did for the week. And Sunday is a God’s day we should listen His words for us to have a blessed life for the next week activities.
